I was really sold by the whole concept of this book. I took the quiz accurately and honestly, went out and spent a lot of money on what I thought would be the end all and be all of my acne issues. Nope. The recommendations made my skin significantly worse. I was really disappointed.
My other comment is that Dr. Baumann continues to try to "sell" you even though you're already reading the book, which makes it sort of an obnoxious read. Throughout the book she boasts her method is the answer to all your problems...but it wasn't, at least in my case.

I would not recommend this book. In my opinion the author is a megaphone for department stores. All the products she suggested can irritate and make the reader's skin worse. She never suggested any natural or organic products.

This is an excellent book. It provides very useful information on the different ingredients to use and to avoide for each skintype. After reading it, I discovered the reason for the pimples on my cheeck might have been caused the irritating ingredients in my makeup.
I also really like the fact that she discuss ethnical difference in reactions to skincare products. I am an Asian and it is really helpful to know how some of the lightening and acne treatment in the U.S. may not work for my skin.
The only suggestion is to make the product recommendation list more updated. Some of the recommendations cannot be found in stores anymore.

An excellent book. It gives you a lot of information. Make sure you take the test in the beginning. I didn't and I was making
wrong decisions until I did take the test. You can save money too. That counts in todays economy.

This is my 2nd purchase of this book. I gave this book as a gift and the recipient really enjoyed the gift. If she uses it as much as I do, it is more than worth the price. I was very pleased with the condition and the service from the vendor and will do business with them in the future.
